Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte looks set to be one of the busiest managers during this January transfer window, as the Italian has made clear his intentions to bolster his Lilywhites squad.

The former Inter Milan man is reportedly looking to add a wing-back, midfielder and striker to his squad, and Spurs have been linked with a number of names in recent weeks.

Now, however, one of Conte’s top targets has been revealed as Filip Kostic, according to Fichajes.

The report states that the Italian has asked his employers to make a move for the Bundesliga star, who has impressed since joining Frankfurt back in 2018.

The 29-year-old has particularly impressed this season, scoring three goals and registering nine assists so far.

Kostic’s performances in Germany have fuelled speculation linking him with a move to England

The Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back would suit the formation and style of play that Conte prefers, and his versatility allows him to operate as a winger or wing-back on both the right and left.

Conte has a rich history of achieving success with wing-backs, having transformed Marcos Alonso during his time with Chelsea and having had a similar effect on Sergio Reguilon during his relatively short time in North London.

Now, the former Italy boss is eyeing another relative unknown to bolster his options on the flanks, with Matt Doherty out of favour at present and heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham.

The Serbian was reportedly also a target of Conte’s during his time in Italy with Inter Milan, and the manager has now asked the club to make ‘extra effort’ to sign the player.

Despite Spurs’ interest, it is expected that they will wait until the summer to table an offer.
