Tottenham Hotspur face Arsenal on Thursday in one of the most significant north London derbies in recent memory.

The two sides are jostling for the final top four spot and, with Arsenal in pole position, a victory for the Gunners would secure their place in next season’s Champions League.

Spurs will be buoyed by their draw at Anfield last weekend though, and will fancy their chances of securing a result.

Antonio Conte’s side have impressed of late, but it appears that the Italian is still keen on bolstering his squad ahead of next season.

As per GiveMeSport, the Lilywhites are plotting a move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Tielemans wants to play in the Champions League

The Belgian made his initial loan move to the Foxes permanent in 2019, and has since established himself as one of the top flight’s most impressive central midfielders.

Tielemans, 25, scored the winning goal as Leicester beat Chelsea to win their first ever FA Cup last year, but the midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away.

The Belgium international has spoken previously of his desire to play in the Champions League, though, and that may prove an obstacle for Spurs if they fail to qualify for Europe’s top club competition.

The Foxes midfielder will enter into the final 12 months of his contract this summer and, with the player having given no indication that he wants to extend his deal, Leicester may opt to cash in on him this summer.

A number of other clubs are also rumoured to be interested in Tielemans, including Arsenal and Real Madrid.
