Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to continue their recent run of good form when they host Premier League champions Manchester City on Wednesday night.

The Lilywhites have won their past three matches in the competition, most recently beating Ipswich Town 4-1 at Portman Road on Saturday.

That run of three straight victories has moved Ange Postecoglou’s side up to 12th in the top flight table, although they still face a fierce battle to qualify for European football next term.

Reigning champions City, meanwhile, are enduring a torrid campaign and were beaten 2-0 by leaders Liverpool last time out.

In the meantime, it has emerged that Spurs could move for one of their Premier League’s top scorers this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes via GiveMeSport, the North London outfit are eyeing a move for Wolves star Matheus Cunha.

Cunha has emerged as a target for Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window

The report claims that Tottenham have made contact with the 26-year-old forward in recent weeks and are considering meeting his £62 million release clause when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Cunha joined Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2023 and has since played 83 times for the club, scoring 30 goals.

He has been particularly impressive this season despite Wolves’ struggles, netting 14 times in 27 matches across all competitions so far.

It is claimed that those in charge of Spurs view the Brazilian as a long-term replacement for club captain Son Heung-Min.

Cunha penned a new deal until 2029 with Wolves last month, but the report suggests that doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t be on his way out of Molineux this summer.

Tottenham’s London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be monitoring the forward, who can play anywhere across the frontline.

This season Cunha has scored 13 goals and provided four assists in 25 Premier League matches, helping his side battle bravely against relegation.
