England manager Gareth Southgate named his preliminary squad for this summer’s European Championships on Tuesday.

Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford were among the notable omissions from the 33-man squad, which will be whittled down to 26 ahead of the tournament in Germany next month.

In attack, strikers Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins have been named in the squad, along with captain Harry Kane.

Dominic Solanke is among those to miss out, but it appears that the Bournemouth star could be in line for a big summer move.

According to talkSPORT, the Lilywhites are one of a number of clubs interested in the striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Tottenham are considering a swoop for the Englishman, who scored 21 goals in 42 games for the Cherries across all competitions this season including 19 in the Premier League.

Solanke finished the season as the joint-fourth highest scorer in the Premier League this season

Solanke joined Bournemouth from Liverpool in 2019, having previously spent time with Chelsea as a youngster.

He has scored more than 77 goals for his current club, but his terrific performances last season appear to have attracted interest from elsewhere and the south coast side could now face a battle to keep hold of the forward.

Solanke’s current contract with Bournemouth is set to expire in 2027, but the club’s chairman Bill Foley has admitted that they could sell him this summer although they would demand a significant fee.

The striker’s only senior cap for England so far came in November 2017, but the former Chelsea man may feel unfortunate not to have been included in Southgate’s latest squad after his impressive individual campaign.
