Tottenham Hotspur fell to a fifth defeat in 11 Premier League games this season as they were beaten 2-1 by Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap gave the Tractor Boys a shock 2-0 lead at half-time in North London, and the Lilywhites were unable to find an equaliser despite Rodrigo Bentancur’s second-half header.

Boos were heard at half-time and full-time as Spurs fell to a sixth defeat across all competitions so far this term.

The result leaves Tottenham tenth in the Premier League table going into the international break, and manager Ange Postecoglou will expect to see his side kick on and improve when domestic football returns later this month.

In the meantime, though, it appears that the North London side have been dealt a transfer blow.

As per GiveMeSport, Spurs are unlikely to be able to lure England international Jack Grealish away from Manchester City.

Grealish is said to be unwilling to push for a move away from Man City

It is claimed that Tottenham are interested in the winger, but Grealish himself isn’t willing to leave The Etihad.

The report also suggests that the 29-year-old’s salary demands would prove too expensive for Spurs, making a more even more unlikely.

City are also not currently looking to sell the Englishman, who cost City around £100 million when they signed him from boyhood club Aston Villa there years ago.

Grealish is currently contracted to City until the summer of 2027, and it appears extremely unlikely that he will leave the Citizens any time soon.

Postecoglou is said to be on the hunt for attacking reinforcements in an effort to bolster his squad, but the finances involved in a potential deal for Grealish would likely prove too expensive and the Australian may therefore have to look elsewhere.
