Tottenham Hotspur fans will still be riding high from Wednesday’s last-gasp comeback win at Leicester City.

Substitute Steven Bergwijn popped up with a brace in the 95th and 97th minute to snatch a 3-2 victory for Spurs which extends Antonio Conte’s unbeaten Premier League record since taking charge in November to nine games.

Not only did it keep the Italian undefeated in the top-flight, but it also moved them above North London rivals Arsenal into fourth and just a point behind fourth placed West Ham but with three games in hand.

If reports in The Mail are accurate, Tottenham supporters could have even more to be excited about as it claims that they have entered the race to sign Diego Carlos from Sevilla.

Carlos (right) has made 27 appearances for Sevilla this term.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a transfer to Newcastle, who have entered a bid, but it is now reported that Spurs also want his signature.

It’s thought Conte would like to bring in another central defender to play in his back-three and Carlos would seem to fit the bill.

The powerful Brazilian is great in the air, loves a physical battle and is also comfortable in possession.

Since moving to Spain from Nantes in 2019, Carlos has become one of La Liga’s most consistent defenders and played a key part in helping Sevilla win the Europa League in 2020.

With AC Milan also claimed to be interested, only time will tell if Carlos will end up in the Premier League, Serie A or stay in La Liga come the end of the January window.
