Tottenham Hotspur now face competition from Juventus in the race for Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen, according to Inside Futbol.

The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Serie A side this season after taking a year to find his feet following a move from FC Twente in the summer of 2017.

Spurs have reportedly taken an interest in the Denmark U-21 international as they aim to add to their squad in the January transfer window.

Mauricio Pochettino would like to recruit another central defender with Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld out of contract at the end of the campaign.

Toby Alderweireld is expected to leave Spurs at the end of the season.

Although the former will likely pen an extension, and they have Dávinson Sánchez to call on, the Argentine wants to create more competition throughout his ranks.

However, Inter Milan and Juventus are now also showing an interest in the young Dane who’s been part of a side that’s conceded just four times in their opening nine league matches.

The Italian champions are thought to be weighing up a €50million offer for Andersen and team-mate Dennis Praet, meaning the north London side will have to act quickly.
