Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season when they travel to face Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

Since taking charge of the Lilywhites over the summer, new manager Ange Postecoglou has impressed and currently has his side sat second in the top flight table.

Spurs remain unbeaten after seven games, having beaten both Manchester United and Liverpool, as well as drawing 2-2 with rivals Arsenal.

Both James Maddison and Son Heung-Min have been passed fit for the game against the Hatters, and it now appears that one of Postecoglou’s fringe players could be set to play an important role in the coming weeks.

As per Football Insider, midfielder Bryan Gil is set to play a significant role for Tottenham in the coming months after impressing his manager in training.

Gil spent the latter part of last season on loan at Spanish side Sevilla

The report claims that the 22-year-old could force his way back into the first team after recovering from a groin injury suffered over the summer.

Gil joined Spurs from Spanish side Sevilla back in 2021 but has only ever played a bit-part role in North London.

The Spaniard has had two spells back at Sevilla over the past two seasons, and has made a total of 45 appearances for the La Liga side across all competitions over the course of his three spells with the club.

For Spurs, though, Gil has has struggled to make a significant impact and is yet to score his first goal for the club, despite playing 31 times.

Postecoglou is said to have been very impressed with Gil’s performances in training since his return to fitness and, although the former Spain under-21 international hasn’t played for Tottenham since January, he could soon make a return to first team action.
