Spurs frontrunners to land the “new Ashley Cole”

Tottenham have reportedly emerged as the favourites to sign the “new Ashley Cole” in Walsall ace Rico Henry.

The Premier League outfit, who could only muster a 1-1 draw at West Brom at The Hawthorns on Saturday, are understood to be ahead of rivals Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United in the hunt for the highly-rated League One defender.

The 18-year-old, who was called up to the England Under-19 squad last month, has scored twice in 18 appearances in all competitions for the Saddlers so far this season.

However Henry; who won the Football League’s Young Player of the Month award back in September, only just signed a new five-year contract with Walsall in October and any potential move is likely to involve a large sum of money.
