Tottenham Hotspur welcome high-flying Everton to North London on Saturday afternoon.

The Lilywhites started the season strongly and, having suffered for several weeks due to a number of injuries, have returned to winning ways of late.

Manager Ange Postecoglou will be hoping to see his side add to their two consecutive victories, but the Toffees have also improved hugely of late and have now won their last four Premier League matches.

In the meantime, it has emerged that Spurs are eyeing alternatives to a Premier League defender.

The Lilywhites have been heavily linked with a move for Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo but the ex-England youth international isn’t top of their list of targets, according to Football Insider.

The 26-year-old recently returned to action after an injury lay-off and has made an instant impact for the Cottagers, helping Marco Silva’s side to two clean sheets in their past three games.

Adarabioyo has attracted interest from clubs across the Premier League

Adarabioyo joined Fulham from the Manchester City academy in 2020 and has since made more than 110 appearances for the club across all competitions.

The report claims that, while Spurs are hoping to sign a new central defender when the transfer window reopens next month, Adarabioyo isn’t currently top of their list of targets and they are instead looking elsewhere.

During the most recent summer transfer window, both Spurs and French side Monaco were interested in signing Adarabioyo, who represented England at under-19 level.

His contract is set to run until the end of the current season, and Fulham could therefore choose to sell him in January rather than risk losing him for free next year.

As his deal is nearing expiry, the centre-back would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with any foreign club from January onwards.
