Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to return to winning ways when they face Wolves on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side went unbeaten over the course of their first ten games of the Premier League season, but were beaten 4-1 by rivals Chelsea on Monday night.

Spurs had two men sent off against the Blues, with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson netting a second-half hat-trick to make the most of their numerical advantage and earn Mauricio Pochettino’s side all three points.

Tottenham now face a Wolves side that have impressed of late, and will undoubtedly provide a stern test for the Premier League’s second-placed side.

Now, though, one of Spurs’ midfielders is facing an uncertain future at the club, reports say.

According to Football Insider, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is facing an increasingly uncertain future at the club ahead of the January transfer window.

Hojbjerg could leave Tottenham in January

The Dane was close to joining fellow London side Fulham over the summer, but the proposed move never materialised.

It is also claimed that Spurs then blocked an out-of-window departure for the midfielder, with clubs in both Turkey and Saudi Arabia interested.

Hojbjerg, 28, joined Spurs from Southampton in the summer of 2020 and has since made more than 150 appearances for his current club across all competitions.

Since Postecoglou’s arrival over the summer, Hojbjerg has struggled to maintain a regular starting spot.

He has started just two games so far this season, making nine substitute appearances in the Premier League alone.

The likes of Yves Bissouma, Pape Sarr, and Oliver Skipp are all seemingly ahead of Hojbjerg in the pecking order in North London.

Hojbjerg’s current contract is set to run until 2025, and the report claims that the Lilywhites will look to sign a replacement for the Denmark international before allowing him to depart the club.
