Tottenham Hotspur were held to a frustrating draw by Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.

Former Toffees man Richarlison put the visitors ahead on Merseyside, before Jack Harrison drew Sean Dyche’s side level.

Richarlison then netted his second to put Spurs back in front, and Ange Postecoglou’s side looked to be heading for victory until Jarrod Branthwaite equalised deep into added time.

The result will have frustrated Postecoglou, with the Lilywhites having missed a number of good opportunities to extend their lead before Everton’s late goal.

With Spurs’ sole focus now on finishing in the Premier League’s top four, it appears that one of their fringe players is set to feature more regularly in the coming months.

Gil is set to feature more regularly during the remainder of the current season

According to Football Insider, midfielder Bryan Gil is set to be given regular minutes in the Spurs side during the remainder of the season.

The report claims that the 22-year-old will be given more opportunities now after deciding to stay put in North London.

Gil was made available for loan or sale during the January transfer window, but the player himself rejected proposed moves away from the capital and instead chose to remain at the club.

The Spaniard joined Tottenham from La Liga side Sevilla back in 2021, and has since spent time on loan back at the club and also at Valencia.

In total he has made 42 appearances for the Lilywhites across all competitions, but he is yet to score a goal for the club.

This season Gil has played 11 times in total, but has started just two Premier League matches.

The four-time Spain international’s current contract with Spurs is set to expire in the summer of 2026.
