This summer’s transfer window will likely be a nervy one for Tottenham fans, with the club desperate to keep hold of talisman Harry Kane.

The England captain has allegedly told his current employers that he wishes to leave the club this summer, but Spurs remain defiant that he will still be in North London next season.

New Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping that Kane does stay, and reportedly wants to sign a striker to partner the Englishman next season.

Aside from the saga involving Kane, it appears that Santo may be on the verge of completing his first signing as Spurs boss.

According to Sky Sports, the North London club are close to completing a deal for Sevilla winger Bryan Gil.

The deal would see Spurs attacker Erik Lamela move in the opposite direction, and the Premier League side would also fork out around £21 million for the Spain international.

Lamela’s last goal for Spurs was his remarkable finish against Arsenal in March.

The 20-year-old is currently representing his country at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, but missed out on Luis Enrique’s squad for Euro 2020.

Gil spent last season on loan at Eibar, where he scored four goals and managed a further three assists as the club were relegated from the Spanish top flight.

The young winger has made a total of 21 appearances for his parent club, whose academy he graduated from.

Lamela, meanwhile, will reportedly sign a three-year deal with the La Liga side, ending his eight-year stay in the capital.

The Argentine, who was one of a number of players signed shortly after the departure of Gareth Bale, has failed to win a single trophy during his time with Spurs.
