Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to retain their place at the top of the Premier League table when they host rivals Chelsea on Monday evening.

Spurs have made a superb start to the season and remain unbeaten after ten games, sitting two points clear of North London rivals Arsenal.

The game will see Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino return to his former club for the first time since leaving Spurs, but the Argentine arrives with his new side having started the season poorly.

The Blues sit 11th in the table and were beaten 2-0 by Brentford in their last Premier League outing, making the hosts strong favourites for Monday’s game.

In the meantime, it appears that the North London outfit could be plotting a move for one of Postecoglou’s former players.

As per Football Insider, Tottenham are plotting a move for former Celtic forward Jota.

Jota could be set for a sensational reunion with Postecoglou

Like Postecoglou, the 24-year-old left the Scottish champions over the summer, joining Scottish side Al-Ittihad.

Having played in the Saudi side’s first five Pro League games, the Portuguese has since been frozen out and isn’t registered to play in the top flight at present.

During his time north of the border, Jota scored 28 goals and provided 26 assists in 83 games across all competitions.

The former Portugal under-21 international won the Scottish Premiership title twice under Postecoglou, and the report claims that the Australian could now look to re-sign him on loan in January.

Jota, who cost Al-Ittihad around £25 million earlier this year, is said to earn around £200,000-per-week at present.

Spurs’ need for attacking reinforcements comes after both Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon suffered long-term injuries, with the former having potentially played his last game for the club as his contract expires next summer.
