England slumped to a 1-0 defeat against South American giants Brazil at Wembley on Saturday evening.

Gareth Southgate’s side had gone into the match as slight favourites and dominated possession for the majority of the friendly, but were unable to find a goal.

The Three Lions were often wasteful in possession, and were ultimately made to rue their missed opportunities when 17-year-old substitute Endrick tapped a rebounded shot into Jordan Pickford’s net to put the visitors ahead ten minutes from time.

Up next for England is another friendly against Belgium, the final match before Southgate picks his squad for this summer’s European Championships in Germany.

Several players failed to impress on Saturday, including midfielder Conor Gallagher.

According to Football Insider, though, Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a bid for the player.

The report claims that Spurs are hoping to land a cur-price deal for the midfielder by bidding early on in the transfer window.

Gallagher failed to impress for England against Brazil on Saturday

Gallagher, 24, is a product of the Blues’ youth academy and broke into the first team at Stamford Bridge at the start of last season.

He has now made a total of 83 appearances for the club across all competitions, and has captained Mauricio Pochettino’s side on several occasions this term.

It is claimed that Spurs, who held an interest in the player last summer, will open with an initial offer of around £30-40 million for the England international.

The player’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and Chelsea are looking to offload players this summer in order to adhere to profit and sustainability rules.

The West London outfit have spent heavily over the past four windows, and Gallagher is among those that could be allowed to leave this summer in order to help balance the books.

Chelsea are said to value the former West Bromwich Albion loanee at £50 million.
