Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to continue their recent good form when they face rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

The Lilywhites started the season superbly and sat top of the Premier League table after ten matches, before a poor run of results saw Ange Postecoglou’s side drop down the standings.

Four wins in their last five league games have helped turn Spurs’ season around once again, though, and the Australian will be hoping to see his side continue their good form against the Red Devils.

Ahead of the match, it appears that Tottenham have stalled a deal that would have seen one of their midfielders move to Italy.

As per Corriere dello Sport via TEAMtalk, the North London outfit have put on hold Bryan Gil’s proposed move to Serie A side Bryan Gil.

Fiorentina are said to be keen on the idea of signing Gil, 22, on loan for the remainder of the current campaign, but the Italian side are currently ‘waiting for a definitive opening’ from their Premier League counterparts.

Gil has been linked with a move away from Spurs this month

The Tuscan side are reportedly still waiting ‘to see if Tottenham are happy with a loan’ for the winger.

Gil joined Spurs from Spanish side Sevilla in 2021, and returned to the La Liga club on loan in January last year, having also spent time with Valencia in 2022.

The Spaniard has struggled to ever establish himself as a regular for the Lilywhites, playing a bit-part role for the club ever since his arrival in the capital.

In total he has made 40 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions, providing just two assists and failing to score a single goal.

Gil is able to play on either flank but his poor goal and assist record since arriving in London mean that he has failed to force his way into Postecoglou’s starting line up.
