Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to guide his side to a third consecutive victory when they face Burnley on Saturday.

The Blues have endured a difficult start to the new campaign but beat Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 in the Carabao Cup last week, and followed that up with a 2-0 victory over rivals Fulham in the West London derby on Monday.

Pochettino’s side will arrive at Turf Moor to face a Clarets side that picked up their first win of the Premier League season on Tuesday, beating Luton Town 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.

Last time out, academy graduate Conor Gallagher captained the Blues, but it remains to be seen whether or not the midfielder will retain the armband for the trip to Burnley.

Despite playing a crucial role for the Blues so far this season, it appears that Gallagher is still attracting interest from elsewhere.

Gallagher has captained the Blues in each of their last three Premier League games

As per 90min, Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in the Englishman, despite talks continuing between the player and his club over a new contract.

The report claims that Gallagher is in discussions with his boyhood club over an extension to his current deal, which is set to expire in 2025.

If an agreement can’t be reached, though, Chelsea are open to the idea of selling him during the upcoming January transfer window.

Spurs are said to be confident that they are leading the race to land the midfielder, who has established himself as a regular for both club and country over the past year.

In total, Gallagher has made 54 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, scoring three times and providing one assist.

The 23-year-old – who has previously spent time on loan at both West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace – made his senior debut for England in November 2021 and has now been capped nine times by his country.
