Tottenham Hotspur will be looking ahead to their huge North London derby clash against Arsenal at the Emirates next week.

Spurs have got off to a flying start so far in the Premier League as they sit in second place with 10 points from four games.

The Lilywhites have beaten Manchester United, Bournemouth and Burnley under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs’ solid start to the campaign has been recognised with Premier League awards as Postecoglou secured the manager of the month title and midfielder James Maddison won player of the month.

Newcomer Maddison joined the North Londoners from Leicester City this summer and performs a crucial role in an electrifying midfield with Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma.

Despite building a dynamic midfield under Postecoglou, Spurs are still on the hunt for players to bolster that area of the pitch.

The Lilywhites seemed to show heavy interest in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher over the summer, but the club were priced out of a move on deadline day.

Now, it appears that Postecoglou’s side have revived their interest in the England international.

Spurs remain determined to sign Conor Gallagher, but do face the risk of being priced out of a move again

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are considering another attempt to sign Gallagher in the January transfer window.

The report claims that the midfielder’s future in West London will be dictated by the financial situation at the club.

The Blues have splashed out on revamping the central areas of the pitch this term as they brought in Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu.

The West London outfit are believed to be open to selling the player as he will be recorded as pure profit for Financial Fair Play reasons, due to the fact that he is an academy product.

Gallagher, 23, has played regularly under Mauricio Pochettino this season and was also a regular at Stamford Bridge last term, featuring in 35 Premier League games.

The Englishman is known for being an engine in the central areas and very hardworking, which could fit well in Postecoglou’s system at Tottenham.

However, like deadline day, Spurs’ move for Gallagher could depend on Pierre-Emile-Hojbjerg’s situation at the club, with the Dane being close to leaving the club over the summer.
