Tottenham Hotspurs are reportedly lining up a surprise move for Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert.

It is understood that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to be reunited with the England forward, although Lambert is also attracting interest from fellow Premier League rivals Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.

The 33-year-old, who had spells at Macclesfield Town and Stockport County, scored only three goals in 36 appearances in all competitions for Brendan Rodgers’ Reds last season following last summer’s switch from Southampton.

Under Pochettino at St Mary’s; Lambert scored 19 goals for the Saints and earned his first England cap, scoring on his international debut with his very first touch in the 3-2 victory over Scotland back in August 2013.
