Tottenham Hotspur will be looking for a third consecutive Premier League victory when they face Burnley on Saturday.

The Lilywhites followed up their 2-0 win over Manchester United with a victory of the same scoreline over Bournemouth last time out, although they were beaten on penalties by Fulham in the Carabao Cup second round on Tuesday.

Having played out a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes, the two London clubs headed to a shootout and Cottagers right-back Kenny Tete dispatched the decisive spot-kick to secure Fulham’s progression into round three.

Now, it appears that the two clubs could be in discussions with a view to completing a deadline day deal.

According to Football Insider, Fulham are hoping to complete the signing of Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on Friday.

The report claims that the Cottagers have submitted a £30 million offer for the Dane as they look for potential replacements for Joao Palhinha, who has attracted significant interest from German champions Bayern Munich.

Hojbjerg could make a last minute switch to Fulham

Hojbjerg, 28, joined Spurs from Southampton back in 2020 and has since made 148 appearances for his current club across all competitions.

The Denmark international has been a regular for Tottenham ever since arriving in North London, however he has only made two substitute appearances across Spurs’ three league games so far this term.

The former Saints man appears to have fallen behind the likes of Pape Matar Sarr and Oliver Skipp in the pecking order at Spurs.

It is also claimed that Fulham have made enquiries about Manchester United’s Scott McTominay and Monaco star Youssouf Fofana as they look for midfield reinforcements.

Spanish side Atletico Madrid have agreed personal terms with Hojbjerg, the report suggests, however the La Liga giants haven’t agreed a fee with Spurs and are hoping that they will lower their price tag for the player in the final hours of the transfer window.

The report claims that Tottenham are standing firm on their valuation of the midfielder, however they are keen to sell the player before the 11pm deadline.
