Tottenham Hotspur full-back Sergio Reguilon has been linked with a shock move to newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.

According to The Athletic, the Spanish defender has emerged as a potential target for Steve Cooper’s side having fallen down the pecking order in north London.

Reguilon was a regular during Jose Mourinho’s tenure at the club, but has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte and has since been heavily linked with a move away from the club.

Forest, who have so far signed 16 players in total, are aware of the player’s situation and have opened talks with Spurs over a potential loan move for the player, the report states.

Reguilon is wanted by Nottingham Forest

Reguilon joined Spurs from Real Madrid in 2020 and made 36 appearances across all competitions during his first season, but he has since fallen down the pecking order.

Both Ryan Sessegnon and new signing Ivan Perisic have been used ahead of the Spaniard so far this term, and it has also been reported recently that Reguilon and Harry Winks are both regarded as surplus to requirements by Conte.

Reguilon, 25, has been linked with a number of other clubs including sides back in La Liga, but he has so far not finalised a move.

The left-back has not been included in Spurs’ match day squad for either of their matches so far this season.
