Spurs talisman Kane offered ‘jaw-dropping’ deal

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane continues to be at the centre of intense speculation surrounding his future.

The England captain has been heavily linked with a move away from North London in recent months, but he has so far stayed put in the capital.

Manchester United have been one of the clubs most often linked with a move for Kane, while German champions Bayern Munich are also said to have shown an interest.

Now, though, it appears that the forward has been offered a lucrative new deal by his current employers.

According to Football Insider, the 29-year-old has been offered a ‘jaw-dropping’ new deal by Spurs in an effort to persuade the player to commit his long-term future to the club.

Kane’s current deal is set to expire next summer, leaving chairman Daniel Levy with a difficult decision to make.

If Kane isn’t sold and refuses to sign a new deal, the Englishman could leave Spurs for free in 12 months.

Kane has established himself as one of the best forwards in Europe over the past few seasons, and is now the highest scorer in the history of both Tottenham and the England men’s side.

In total, the former Millwall loanee has scored 280 goals in 435 matches for Spurs across all competitions, as well as providing 64 assists.

The report claims that Kane has been offered a contract that would significantly increase his current £200,000-per-week wages, making him one of the highest paid players in the Premier League.

Back in 2021, Kane looked to be close to joining Manchester City but the move never materialised and the Citizens later signed Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Despite Spurs’ efforts to extend Kane’s stay in the capital, the report claims that the player himself has no intentions of signing a new deal during the current transfer window.

Spurs’ current stance on the player is that he is not for sale and that they will not listen to offers for him this summer, although that may change if he refuses to sign a contract extension.
