Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to return to winning ways when they face Aston Villa after the international break.

The Lilywhites had enjoyed a superb start to the season and sat top of the Premier League table after ten games, but consecutive defeats against Chelsea and Wolves – by 4-1 and 2-1 scorelines respectively – have left Ange Postecoglou’s side fourth.

Tottenham have also lost both James Maddison and Micky van de Ven to injury, with the pair both expected to be absent until 2024.

Another player suffering from injury is forward Richarlison, but it appears that Spurs will reject any interest in the player.

According to Football Insider, the North London outfit will reject any offers for the Brazilian ahead of the January window, despite his struggles since arriving in the capital.

The 26-year-old joined Tottenham from Everton last summer for a fee of around £60 million, having scored 53 goals in 153 matches for the Toffees.

Richarlison remains part of Postecoglou’s plans

He has struggled to replicate that form for Spurs, though, netting just five times in 46 games for the club so far.

After a dismal first season in London, his form has improved marginally so far this term as he has scored twice and provided three assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.

The Brazil international has, however, attracted interest from the Saudi Arabian Pro League ahead of the January transfer window, but Spurs have no intention of selling the player and will therefore reject any offers for him.

At present, the forward is sidelined after undergoing surgery on a groin injury earlier this month.

He was an unused substitute during the defeat against rivals Chelsea, and was then absent for the loss against Wolves the following week.
