St Etienne turn down West Ham bid

West Ham have failed in a bid to sign Kevin Malcuit from St Ettiene.

According to a report on TalkSPORT the French side rejected an £8m for the right-back.

Getting £25m in for Dimitri Payet was the main target of the transfer window for Slaven Bilic with that goal achieved with cash to spare to reinvest in Robert Snodgrass.

With Jose Forte added to the centre of defence Bilic is looking to fill up some of his side’s problem areas with impressive reports coming back about Malcuit.

The 25-year-old is in his first season as a regular in the St Etienne team but following Payet’s move back and forward between Marseille and West Ham French side’s are wary of dealing with English sides.

With money apparently no object in the Premier League French clubs are holding their ground in anticipation of bigger offers being made for their players once word gets out that players are available.
