Premier League outfit Stoke City are looking to raid top-flight rivals Newcastle United for full-back Paul Dummett, according to The Chronicle.

The 25-year-old has been at St James’ Park since 2000 and slowly but surely made his way up through the ranks at the club, earning his senior debut for the Magpies back in 2013, this all after loan spells at Gateshead and St Mirren.

And he has since gone on to become a stalwart of the Newcastle squad in the last few seasons, earning 121 appearances for the North East giants, of which 35 came last term as Rafa Benitez’s side secured an immediate return to the Premier League.

And the £2.98 million-rated ace (as per Transfermarkt) more than played his part in that title-winning campaign, and it’s form which has reportedly attracted the attention of Stoke City boss Mark Hughes.

The Potters finished 13th in the Premier League last term to fall outside the top ten for the first time since 2013, and although they only finished a point adrift of the top half and were never in danger of going down, the bet365 Stadium faithful will be hoping that their team can push on next term.

And given that 25-year-old Dummett has experience at top-flight level and proved his credentials in that division, he may well be a very shrewd signing for Stoke, but whether Newcastle sanction a deal for someone who started all but two of their Championship games last term very much remains to be seen.
