Bruno Martins Indi looks set to make his loan move to the bet365 Stadium a permanent one as Stoke City have opened contract talks with the FC Porto defender, according to the latest reports from Sky Sports News.

Indi said, “We are talking to each other, the club and me. I have the intention to stay. We want to see what is going to happen.

“I was following Stoke City before I was here and I knew the way the manager wants to play.

“He gave me a lot of confidence to come here and he trusted me. (I’m) happy that I could give him that back.”

The 25-year-old has been an ever-present under manager Mark Hughes this season since making his move from Portugal in the summer, and looks set to help the club to their fourth consecutive top ten finish, as The Potters continue to solidify their reputation as one of the Premier League’s more consistent and financially stable clubs.

Stoke may even be able to reach the heights of seventh this season, although with an eleven-point gap between themselves and Everton – who occupy seventh – it won’t be easy.
