Stoke City have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling.

The 31-year-old was thought to be attracting interest from Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp seeking another forward option due to Daniel Sturridge’s injury problems.

However, it’s now been reported that the Reds are no longer interested in the former Nurnberg player, giving the Potters, whose boss Mark Hughes is looking for a new striker, an opportunity to strike a deal.

Kiessling, who has six caps for Germany, has scored 155 goals in 391 games for Leverkusen.
