Newcastle United (A) – March 20

With Sam Allardyce’s side just a point adrift of Premier League survival, there is still every chance Sunderland can beat the drop before the 2015/16 season is out. Their first real chance of picking up all three points will be in March’s hotly contested Tyne-Wear derby, where the Black Cats have won the last six league meetings between the two rivals.

The Black Cats’ impressive 2-1 victory over Manchester United earlier this month has pulled Sunderland within a point of safety.

West Brom (H) – April 2

Next up; Allardyce’s men will welcome Tony Pulis’ West Brom to the Stadium of Light in early-April, a fixture between two managers who are renowned for grinding out results for their respective clubs and securing Premier League survival. The Baggies have slipped to 14th in the table and are misfiring in front of goal, which could give Sunderland a golden opportunity to snatch a precious win.

Norwich City (A) – April 16

And finally; their trip to Carrow Road to face relegation rivals Norwich City a fortnight later could seal their fate by mid-April, as Sunderland face a tough run-in from there on in until the end of the campaign. With clashes against Arsenal, Stoke City, Chelsea and Watford still to come, the greatest and latest probable chance of recording a league win will be against the Canaries four games earlier.
