Getting the manager’s job at Manchester United should have been a dream for David Moyes but ever since he was sacked from the Old Trafford job three years ago his career has been on almost unstoppable downward trajectory.

Being let go from United after a poor run that saw the perennial title challengers miss out on the top four was followed by a brief stint as Real Sociedad manager which failed to offer the salvation Moyes was looking for.
