Sunderland will reportedly complete the deadline day signing of striker Leonardo Ulloa, according to Talksport presenter Jim White.

The Premier League side, who currently sit rock-bottom of the English top-flight standings, three points adrift of safety having lost 15 of their opening 22 league fixtures, have been heavily linked with a move for the want away Leicester City forward before tonight’s 23:00pm deadline.

The 30-year-old, who yesterday threatened to go on strike after claiming Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri has betrayed him, has scored just one goal in 19 appearances in all competitions for the defending Premier League champions so far this season.

Ulloa, who arrived at the King Power Stadium back in July 2014 following his reported £8m switch from Brighton and Hove Albion, has netted 20 times in 91 games overall for Leicester.

Despite already having a £7m bid turned down (Daily Star), deadline day expert White believes the Black Cats will ultimately snap up the Argentine forward before the January transfer windows closes in less than 12 hours time.

He said on air, “I think it will go through.”
