Despite making a brilliant start to the season for Swansea, winger Jefferson Montero has lost his place in the team and fallen out of favour at the Liberty Stadium in recent months.

The Ecuador international did score in the Swans’ 3-2 defeat to Oxford in the FA Cup on Sunday, but the wide man has been linked with a move to Premier League rivals, Watford, in recent days.

With Jonjo Shelvey departing for Newcastle, the Welsh outfit may not want to lose another player this month, but they may also want to raise further funds to bring in some new faces as they look to avoid a relegation battle over the coming months.
