Former Swansea City winger Scott Sinclair scored four goals in three League Cup appearances for Aston Villa this term

With no January deals completed so far, new Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin could be tempted in bringing back former fans favourite Scott Sinclair before Monday’s deadline.

The 26-year-old, who is a former England Under-21 international, has scored six goals in 21 appearances in all competitions for fellow strugglers Aston Villa this season.

But Sinclair, who originally left the Liberty Stadium for Manchester City back in August 2012 in a deal worth up to £8m, is ready to quit Remi Garde’s side this month after losing his first-team spot under the French manager.

After scoring an impressive 36 goals in 91 games for the Swans between 2010 and 2012 after joining from Chelsea, the Welsh outfit are in line to re-sign the tricky winger for as little as £2m before the close of the window on February 1.

It is understood that Sinclair is open to the idea of a return to the Liberty Stadium; especially with the Villans currently ten points adrift of safety at the bottom of the standings, whilst Guidolin’s Swans have risen to 15th whilst moving four points clear of the drop zone.
