Swansea City are reportedly closing in on a deal to bring back Netherlands international Jonathan de Guzman, according to the Express.

The Premier League side, who currently sit four points clear of the drop zone after back-to-back wins over Watford and Everton respectively, are expected to welcome back the Napoli midfielder to the Liberty Stadium before the close of the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who has 14 international caps for his country, has failed to make a single appearance for the Serie A outfit this season under manager Maurizio Sarri.

Guzman, who starred in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil to help the Netherlands achieve third-place, spent two seasons on loan at Swansea between 2012 and 2014 before turning down a permanent deal at the club in favour of a switch to Italy.

Now nearing full fitness after recovering from a groin operation, Guzman is expected to sign for Francesco Guidolin’s side until the end of the current campaign.
