Name: Ashley Williams
At the start of January, Swansea were perilously close to the Premier League relegation zone following a below-par season that saw Garry Monk sacked in December and replaced by Francesco Guidolin.
The South Wales club are still just four point above the bottom three as we approach March with 12 matches left to play this term, and they will need some big performances from the likes of their BRIT Awards winner – Ashley Williams.
The Swans’ captain has often led by example and been very influential for the club, and the skipper’s performances were part of the reason why the side went four games unbeaten before the loss to Southampton a fortnight ago.
The Welshman’s winner in the first of those four – against Watford – was vital, and he followed it up with another fine performance in the 2-1 win against Everton at Goodison Park the following weekend, eventually being nominated for the PFA January Player of the Month award.
