Captain Ashley Williams helped inspire Wales to reach their first major tournament finals in 57 years, despite suffering defeat in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Needing just a point to qualify for next summer’s 2016 UEFA European Championships in France, the Group B leaders stumbled to a 2-0 defeat on Saturday after late goals from Milan Djuric and Vedad Ibisevic. But Chris Coleman’s Dragons still advanced to the Euro finals thanks to Cyprus’ surprise 2-1 victory in Israel, sparking wild celebrations in the away end in Zenica. The Swansea City ace, alongside club teammate Neil Taylor, celebrated long into the night, despite conceding two goals at the weekend, as Wales booked their spot in their first-ever Euro finals. Williams was then on hand again on Tuesday night to keep a clean sheet in overseeing Wales’ 2-0 victory over Andorra inside the Cardiff City Stadium, where Coleman’s side were narrowly piped to top spot after Belgium fended off Israel 3-1 in Brussels.
