Swansea close in on deal to sign Napoli midfielder

Swansea are reportedly closing in on a deal to re-sign Napoli midfielder Jonathan de Guzman, according to Sky Sources.

The Swans are looking for a replacement for Jonjo Shelvey, who left the Liberty Stadium to join Newcastle earlier this week, and are keen on a move for the Dutchman.

The South Wales outfit had the 28-year-old on loan from Villarreal for two seasons between 2012 and 2014, where he scored eight goals in 50 appearances in all competitions.

Following Wednesday night’s 4-2 loss at home to fellow strugglers Sunderland, Alan Curtis’ Swansea find themselves just one place and one point above the Premier League relegation zone.
