Swansea City are reportedly preparing a January swoop for former Scotland Under-21 international Michael O’Halloran.

The Premier League side; who narrowly lost out 2-1 at Manchester United at the weekend, are thought to be on the lookout for a new forward in the January transfer window, especially if star striker Bafetimbi Gomis should leave the Liberty Stadium later this month.

O’Halloran, who turns 25 today, has scored five goals and assisted a further ten strikes in 23 appearances in all competitions for Scottish Premiership outfit St Johnstone this season.

The right winger, who began his career with Championship side Bolton Wanderers, has been tipped to receive a senior international call-up to Gordon Strachan’s Scotland squad on the basis of his impressive form this term.
