Swansea winger Montero played a starring role in his nation’s 3-1 World Cup qualifying win over Venezuela.

The wide man scored the second goal of the game when he capitalised on a horrific clearance from the Venezuelan defence to give his side a first half, two-goal lead. He then turned provider as he set up former Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo for Ecuador’s third goal.

The result leaves the South American outfit five points clear at the top of the table as the race for Russia in 2018 continues.
