It has been just over a year since Marcus Rashford announced himself on the big stage with four goals in the space of just three February days.

The teenager wasn’t even in Louis van Gaal’s team to face Midtjylland on February 25 2016, yet Anthony Martial’s injury in the warm-up opened the door for Rashford, who took his chance by netting twice to help United to an easy 5-1 victory.

And then, just three days later, van Gaal rewarded the English striker by giving him a Premier League start at home to Arsenal, and he once again delivered, scoring twice in three minutes to inspire the Red Devils to a 3-2 victory over Arsene Wenger’s men.

Since then, Rashford has had an unbelievable year, making and scoring on his debut for England against Australia in May 2016, and then just a month later being named in Roy Hodgson’s final 23-man squad for the European Championships.

Add in some crucial Premier League goals, most notably the winner in the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium last season, and Rashford has risen to the challenge, but where is the next young starlet going to come from, and potentially replicate Rashford’s meteoric rise?
