Conte is beginning to stamp his authority on the Chelsea team, and played three at the back in their win at Hull prior to the international break.

As a result, he will want wing-backs in his squad, and West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell would provide him with one.

Although mainly used as a full-back, the 26-year-old played wing-back for West Ham a few times last season, particularly to great effect in their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur back in March.

He may not be a natural in that position, but he has all the qualities to fulfil the role of wing-back and, under Conte, those could be fulfilled.
