Chelsea missed out on the chance to secure a record-breaking 14th consecutive Premier League victory by losing 2-0 at Tottenham on Wednesday.

Antonio Conte’s men equalled Arsenal’s record of 13 wins by beating Stoke 4-2 on New Year’s Eve, but they were unable to get the three points at White Hart Lane as two Dele Alli headers clinched the win for Spurs.

Nonetheless, Conte’s side still have a healthy lead at the top of the Premier League, as they sit five points clear of second place Liverpool with 18 matches of the campaign left.

Chelsea have won 16 of their 20 league games so far, with victories over Manchester United, Tottenham, and Manchester City indicative of a side ready to regain the Premier League title from Leicester come May.

However, that defeat at White Hart Lane will act as warning sign to Conte and his men, and may even persuade the Chelsea boss to dip into the transfer window and secure further signings in a bid to keep the Blues at the top of the division.

Chelsea have had varying success in the winter window in the past, with some good buys mixed in with some bad ones, but here are their TOP THREE best January signings since the window was introduced in 2003…
