Chelsea made it ten wins in a row in the Premier League courtesy of a narrow 1-0 success over Sunderland on Wednesday.

Cesc Fabregas scored what turned out to be the winner five minutes before half time with a fine finish, but the Blues did have goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to thank for making a terrific save to prevent Patrick van Aanholt from rescuing a point for David Moyes’ side.

The Blues have now recorded back-to-back 1-0 victories in the Premier League, using their champion-like qualities to twice get over the line, which is an ominous sign to the rest of the division.

Their victory at the Stadium of Light moved them six points clear in the title race, with Liverpool their nearest challengers after they won 3-0 at Middlesbrough to leapfrog Arsenal into second.

Nonetheless, it’s Chelsea, who have conceded just two goals in their ten-match winning run, who look like the team to beat this season, with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, and Manchester City all beaten by the Blues in recent times.

Stamford Bridge appears to be a fortress we all saw in the Jose Mourinho era, but the Blues also know how to win away from home, winning six of their eight league matches thus far, so it’s difficult to see where teams will hurt Conte’s men.

So, with Christmas approaching and the halfway point of the season almost upon us, we thought we’d evaluate Chelsea’s season thus far…
