Aside from Deadline Day Tottenham went about their business in a rather quite manor, with deals for both Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen tied up very early on in the window.

However, a protracted saga to land Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and a late swoop for Everton-bound Moussa Sissoko dominated their Deadline Day dealings.

The additions made by manager Mauricio Pochettino over the window were maybe not quite what Spurs fans were expecting, with the North London side seeming acquiring a whole new bench without strengthening their starting eleven.

Many top-class talents were rumoured to be bound for White Hart Lane over the summer as last season’s third-placed Premier League side look to build for the most highly contested league campaign for years, as well as domestic cup and European fixtures to contest with.

Every fan wishes for a star-studded transfer window, however – unless you’re Man United with Mourinho at the helm – that rarely happens. We all like to dream though so, with that in mind, here is the side that Pochettino could have sent out week-in, week-out this season…
