This is the ideal Everton front four including one potential summer signing

Ross Barkley

Ross Barkley has been absolutely brilliant for Everton since the turn of the year, but there can’t be many Toffees supporters out there who expected him to be this good after a below-par first half of the season.

The England international, recalled to Gareth Southgate’s squad this week for the first time since Euro 2016, managed just two goals and two assists in his first 14 Premier League games of the season, but in 2017, the 23-year-old has taken it up a level.

Barkley has scored once and laid on five assists in nine league games this year, including two in a man-of-the-match display against Manchester City in January, a game Koeman’s men won 4-0.

When he is in this sort of form, Barkley is as good a midfielder as any in the league, so keeping him beyond the summer will be integral if Everton are to challenge the top six again next term.
