Liverpool have joined Newcastle and Everton tracking Nicolas Pepe of Angers.
According to a report in The Express the 21-year-old striker is on the wanted list of all three clubs.
Pepe is due back in France in the next couple of days after the Ivory Coast were knocked out of the African Cup of Nations.
Despite his low goal return, just two so far this season, Pepe is rated in the £8m bracket with English clubs apparently cash rich when it comes to buying strikers.
Liverpool are keen to bring in emerging young talent and could offer to let Pepe stay on loan at Angers until the end of the season.
Everton and Newcastle have more pressing striker needs and would be prepared to take a chance on the the Angers striker.
The French side are likely to encourage an auction but it’s likely that any transfer business will take place towards the end of the January window.
