Arsenal’s terrible 2020/21 Premier League season continued as they were beaten 2-1 by Everton at Goodison Park.

Mikel Arteta’s side’s fifth defeat in seven winless matches means they sit 15th in the table on 14 points from as many matches.

That’s just four points clear of the bottom-three and 12 points off a top-four place they would’ve been aiming to reach at the start of the campaign.

Arsenal are in a disastrous run of form.

So despite a promising start to his Arsenal reign, which delivered both FA Cup and Community Shield success a few months ago, the pressure is now firmly on Arteta to turn the situation around.

The North London club will also have an eye on the January transfer window with fresh blood desperately needed.

But who could the Gunners move to sign next month? We take a look at three players Arsenal have been linked with in recent days…

Abdallah Sima

According to reports from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Arsenal are planning to move for Slavia Prague forward Abdallah Sima to create further competition in what is an underperforming forward line. The 19-year-old has scored 13 goals in all competitions this term for the Czech side. Sima, who mostly plays as a central striker but can play out wide, is also thought to be interesting West Ham.

Emi Buendia

Despite being relegated last season, Emi Buendia certainly showed he certainly had the class to play in the top-flight. In December 2019, the midfielder actually created the most chances (29) in a calendar month on record in Premier League history. Now having played a few months back in the Championship, the Argentine could be set to depart in January, according to Sky Sports. Arsenal were reportedly previously linked with Buendia so it remains to be seen if they renew that in the new year.

Yves Bissouma

Brighton have won just two of their 14 matches this term but Yves Bissouma has been a shining light in their midfield. The Mali international’s energy and skill has often baffled opposition players. Bissouma’s performances have according to his agent Michael N’Cho (as reported by Jonathan Shrager) caught the eye of Arsenal. However, it’s also thought that Manchester United, Liverpool, Monaco and two La Liga teams are interested in the 24-year-old.
