Three Players who could exit Manchester United in January due to frustrating December.

On the pitch December has been an up and down month for United. They exited the Champions League group stage in disastrous fashion, but recent league results have made them one of few challengers for the title.

It seems manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is starting to find is best team, which has been good news for certain United players, but with such a huge squad it has given fringe players very few first team opportunities.

This has resulted in certain reports linking players away from the club during the January transfer market. Here are three players who could leave the club on loan or permanently at the start of 2021.

Jesse Lingard

The Manchester Evening News have suggested that Premier League bottom side, Sheffield United could be interested in signing Lingard on loan in January. At one time, the attacking midfielder was one of the first names on the team sheet at Old Trafford, but the former England international now finds himself far down the pecking order.

Phil Jones

If the truth were to be told, Jones has been far and away a regular starter at United for quite some time now and is often overlooked to start centre back even when Solskjaer cannot choose his first and second options. Jones’ United career has been sadly blighted by injuries and the Daily Star are reporting that he could leave the club in January.

Odion Ighalo

When Ighalo signed an extension to his loan deal it seemed like the perfect solution for both the player and the club. He had performed extremely well at United since his arrival in January 2020 and was desperate to continue playing for the club. However, the deadline day deal for Edinson Cavani has seen very limited opportunities for Ighalo and with his loan set to expire on January the 31st it is unlikely he will stay at United past then.
