England have all-but-confirmed their place in the last 16 of the World Cup, with an emphatic loss to Wales on Tuesday the only result that could see Gareth Southgate’s side fail to qualify.

The Three Lions need to ensure they are not beaten by four goals or more against Wales to secure a place in the knockout stages, although a draw or win would see them top the group.

England will also find out their last 16 opponents on Tuesday, with the final round of Group A fixtures taking place just hours before England kick-off.

Ecuador look the most likely opponents for Southgate’s men, although that could all change and both Senegal and the Netherlands remain potential opponents.

Wales, Iran and USA will all be looking to join England in the last 16, although only one of the sides can progress.

USA will once again be relying on Christian Pulisic to guide them to victory, with the Chelsea man having impressed so far during their draws against both Wales and England.

Pulisic has failed to impress for Chelsea this season, but his performances at the World Cup appear to have attracted interest from a number of other clubs.

According to The Mail, a trio of Premier League sides are monitoring the winger’s situation.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United are all said to be keeping an eye on the player, who is set to be out of contract in 18 months.

Man United’s interest follows Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the club

Pulisic, 24, has struggled ever since joining The Blues from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, but he has been the star of USA’s World Cup campaign so far.

The winger provided an assist against Wales and was named player of the match against England, and his performances appear to have been noticed back in England.

Both Manchester United and Newcastle reportedly enquired about the American over the summer, and Arsenal have also since registered an interest in the player.

Despite costing £58 million just three years ago, Chelsea reportedly have no plans at present to offer Pulisic a new deal, which may mean that the new two transfer windows represent The Blues’ last chances to sell the attacker for a significant fee.

In total, the ex-Dortmund man has made 133 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 26 goals and providing 21 assists.

The Blues would reportedly demand around £35 million for the winger if they were to sell, which would represent a significant loss on their initial outlay for the player.

United’s interest comes following the news that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club by mutual consent, although United are also unconvinced by Jadon Sancho’s recent performances and are therefore plotting a move for an attacker.

It is also claimed that Liverpool are also admirers of the player, however The Reds are set to prioritise a move for a central midfielder next summer.
