Arsenal moved back into first place in the Premier League table courtesy of a 3-1 win over London rivals Chelsea on Tuesday evening.

The Gunners have topped the table for the majority of the season but a recent dip in form had allowed reigning champions Manchester City to leapfrog them into top spot.

Mikel Arteta’s side will drop back into second place if City beat West Ham United on Wednesday, though, with the title still very much in The Citizens’ hands.

Regardless of whether or not Arsenal do lift the Premier League trophy, The Gunners will undoubtedly be pleased with their qualification for next season’s Champions League.

The north London outfit haven’t competed in Europe’s top club competition for six years, but they will do so next term after securing a top four spot this season.

Now, it appears that Arteta will be given a huge boost ahead of next season.

Arteta is set to be handed a significant transfer budget for the upcoming summer window

As per FootballTransfers, the Spaniard will be handed a £200 million transfer budget for the upcoming summer window.

The report claims that Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke will give Arteta the significant budget to bolster his squad, with a view to the club competing on all fronts next term.

Kroenke is reportedly keen for the club to mount a serious to challenge to win the Champions League for the first time in their history.

Last summer, Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from rivals Manchester City, and the pair have both been crucial to The Gunners’ shock pursuit of the Premier League title.

The London side also landed Jakub Kiwior from Italian side Spezia in January, and the Polish defender made his first Premier League start during the win over Chelsea on Tuesday.

In addition to the initial £200 million budget, Arteta will also reportedly be able to spend any money raised through player sales this summer.
