Tony Pulis will not be resigning as West Bromwich Albion manager, according to BBC Sport.

The 58-year-old was absent during the Baggies’ friendly against Delhi Dynamos on Saturday, fuelling speculation further about his future at the Hawthorns.

However the report suggests that the former Stoke City and Crystal Palace is set to stay put, despite being disappointed with the club’s business over the course of the 2016 summer transfer window.

Despite breaking their club-record signing to lure Belgium international Nacer Chadli to the Midlands for £13m from Tottenham, a deadline day deal for Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho failed to materialise.

Overall; Pulis brought in five players ahead of the current 2016/17 season, signing Spurs’ Chadli, Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips, Watford defender Allan Nyom, Everton full-back Brendan Galloway (loan), before snapping up Wales international forward Hal Robson-Kanu – who was a free agent.

The club’s chairman, John Williams, recently said in a statement, “Tony wanted five and got five.

“That having been said, the one disappointment we suffered was not being able to add a further quality midfield player.”
